Coaching? The best coach you can find ... is yourself

Coaching. More and more people are in need of it. And maybe you too now? Because your life is not going the way you want it to. You just can't seem to get what's inside. A little or a lot. And you feel everything: 'I have to do something about this, I can do something about this'. There does not have to be an obvious cause. Although there can be. Maybe you have burnout, stress symptoms or depression, relationship problems or work that requires change. Or perhaps a loved one died or you have to let go of a situation to which you were very attached. For example, because you were confronted with a life-threatening illness. Highly sensitive people (HSP), are also increasingly seeking help from a coach or therapist.

But again: you don't have to. The fact that things are not going the way you want is reason enough to change that.

And congratulations for seeking that out! Because some people experience the need for coaching as a defeat. 'That it had to come to this with me'. But considered properly, it's actually a good sign. Apparently a suspicion dwells within you that a new day is near. That it is not your destiny, and certainly not your fate, to go through life depressed, discouraged, with the same recurring feelings of unhappiness, dissatisfaction, restlessness or discomfort.

Coaching, in other words. Only: how to find a good one?

Chances are you already tried a few things. Talks with a therapist, a course, training or retreat. And it helped, too. But then again, it didn't. Because after a temporary feeling of relief you kept coming back to that same distressing feeling: 'not this, not that'. You were actually back to square one.

What is it!? You understand that you have to get out of it on your own. And you really want to. So why doesn't it work out?

Suppose you are hungry. What will you look for? For a fish or for a fishing rod? Translated to your search for a good coach, Liber advises, "look inward very, very, very honestly. What are you actually longing for? For an outcome? Or for better insight into your question? For other people's solutions or for more self-knowledge?'

Those who choose the latter will find the Liber coaching methodology fits like a glove. Because this way of coaching does not give you a fish - that which you ask for - but a fishing rod: insight into who you, the inquirer, actually are. Liber does not offer you a coach, but brings you to the realization that you yourself are your very best coach imaginable.

Coaching 'unlike anything else'.

In two respects, the Liber coaching methodology is "unlike anything else. First, this approach does not do answers. Instead, it teaches you to find the way to it yourself. Liber makes you aware that the same "I" that identifies your situation as a problem cannot, by definition, also solve it. And shows you how to tap into another 'I' dimension within yourself. Think: "I extension. It is this, hitherto secret, source within yourself that will become more and more of a coach to you over time.

What also sets Liber apart: it does not help you arrive at the destination of your choice, but teaches you how to look at your compass. Not for nothing is it called a "do-it-yourself" coaching methodology. Your coach hands you the 'Liber compass' and explains how it works. But after that, it's up to you. Your dedication at home is the real key to your recovery. First by really putting in the effort. Liber practicing for an hour daily. But once you get comfortable with that, then you will want to then dedicate yourself to practicing in life. You will realize that any given day brings very little that you cannot practice. Your life becomes one big, permanent form of self-coaching, so to speak. And in so doing, ceases to be a task, a burden.
